Oh, I remember as a child going out on the frozen lake and hearing it moan and groan...and the ominous sound of a crack.
ReplyDeleteWell this is a nice surprise! Thanks for featuring this (Do I admit that I have no memory of writing it? Yikes, nothing like a little brain fog...)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Guess you live, breathe, and SLEEP poetry, Buffy. However it happened, you done good with this one!
DeleteThere are mistakes, and then there are potential mistakes...both can drown us.
ReplyDeleteMore here than meets the eye, right? I'd love to have a discussion with students about this one. Terrific!
ReplyDeleteYikes! Makes me glad it's spring.
ReplyDeleteThe risk of broken ice is even greater if you can't skate and land on your rump!
ReplyDeleteSuch wisdom packed into a few words! Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove the vision of that frozen pond and its many cracks captured in both the image and your words.
